More About Aaryn

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

I'm a warm, empathetic, and supportive clinician who works with children, adolescents, and adults. Deep listening and genuine connection are at the heart of everything I do — my hope is that my grounded, calm presence helps you feel at ease, even when sharing the thoughts, experiences, and emotions that are hardest to say out loud.

I take a pragmatic approach to treatment, combining a strengths-based perspective with practical tools and resources to help you work toward the goals that matter most to you. My foundation is psychodynamic ("talk") therapy, but I weave in a range of modalities depending on what you need — including mindfulness, yoga, cognitive behavioral therapy, and attachment theory. I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, CPTSD/PTSD, grief, and life transitions.

My background in the arts (I'm a proud member of Actors' Equity) and yoga instruction (RYT 500) bring a creative and embodied perspective to this work. I believe deeply in meeting each person where they are — because there's no single path through, and finding what actually works for you is the whole point.

I have experience in school and outpatient settings providing grief and trauma therapy to individuals and groups, and I hold specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I hold a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from West Virginia University, and I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) licensed to practice in DC, VA, MD, WV, and NY.
